Rio Olympics 2016: Japan gymnastic team predicted to win against German, Italy, Canada, Brazil?

With only a few days remaining before Rio Olympics 2016 officially opens, the Japan gymnastics team presented their strongest athletes to compete against Brazil, Germany, Canada and Italy.

Among the strongest gymnastic teams in the world are the United States, China, Russia and Romania. These countries dominated the sport for the longest time. With Romania out of the picture, the teams slated for Rio will be more intense.

The question will be which of these remaining countries Brazil, Germany, Canada, Italy and Japan predicted to win the nearing Ro Olympics 2016.

Given the biggest mistakes from the teams that lie ahead of them, who among these athletes will succeed?

According to Rio spoilers, there will be much to expect from Japan compared to the other three countries. The country has already announced their athletes earlier than expected; hence, intensive training within that period is much anticipated.

Ranked sixth and fifth in 2012 and 2015 respectively, Japan featured Mai Murakami as their strongest bet for the sport.

Knowing that this team seemed to have unpredictable skills on different events, Japan slowly became reliable to produce extraordinary second tier of teams for years. Along with Murakami are Asuka Teramoto, Sae Miyakawa, Aiko Sugihara and Yuki Uchiyama.

With regards to Brazil, Italy, Canada and Germany, the only differences to see are the mistakes that await them during the tournament. Each of these countries has their own weak points which might be the only room for their deficit.

Based from this year’s athletes, Brazil is weak in bars with Rebecca Andrade to represent the country in that particular category.

Germany, on the other hand, is superb with finalist Elisabeth Seitz. She certainly helps a lot for a solid score. However, their inconsistencies from the previous Olympic Games became much of their problem.

If the country could prove that after Rio Olympics 2016, they remain an active participant of the sport; their level of competitiveness won’t be affected. That means their rankings will not be affected.

Ranked sixth in 2015, Canada presented veterans Ellie Black, who won 2012 Olympic, 2013 World floor, 2014 and 2015 world beam.

With Brittany Rogers, Isabela Onyshko, Rose-Kaying Woo, and Shallon Olsen on hand, no wonder they could possibly conquer Rio Olympics 2016 gymnastics.

Yet, their only edge among the other countries is the vault. Canada, in general, only relies on high risk and high reward routines. With Black’s possible misses in the routines might create much of a deficit.

Setting aside the highly anticipated mistakes from these countries, Italy who is considered the powerhouse of Rio could showcase explosive skills in their line-up.

Their current rosters, Vanessa Ferrari, Carlotta Ferlito, Erika Fasana, Elisa Meneghini, and Martina Rizzelli, are great potential for beam events.
