Team USA vs. Nigeria Basketball Preview, Projected Lineups & Live Stream

The United States Men’s National Basketball Team continues its preparation for the 2016 Rio Olympics on Monday as they face FIBA Africa champions, Nigeria, in Houston. Here are all the details for the USA vs. Nigeria basketball showcase, complete with a preview and live stream links.

Team USA is coming off an ugly 80-45 win against FIBA Americas champions, Venezuela, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson each scored 13 points as the defending Gold Medalists win despite their struggles from the field.

Despite shots not falling, USA had a very good defensive game to limit the FIBA Americas champions to just 45 points. Venezuela did not have a single player with an NBA experience because Greivis Vasquez pulled out to recover from an injury.

Nevertheless, the win brought Team USA’s record to 4-0 during their exhibition tour. The players, with the exception of Carmelo Anthony, were very happy on their flight from Chicago to Houston for their final game.

They will be facing a Nigerian team the holds a win over Argentina. Former NBA player Ike Diogu led D’Tigers in the 96-92 win over the 2004 Gold Medal winners. The Nigerians used their athleticism and three-point shooting to get the win.

However, Nigeria lost their friendly rematch to Argentina two days later. The South Americans bounced back in a big way, defeating the African champions, 101-79. USA is expected to blowout Nigeria as they try to dust off a bad performance.
