Since the controversial star had been exhibiting disputed and crooked behavior, he was regarded as the villain on the program. Once in The Bachelorette 2014, he mortified Andi Dorfman when he confessed on sleeping with her in the fantasy suite, before Josh Murray’s proposal.

A year later, in 2015, Kaitlyn Bristowe was told by Viall that she “broke the rules” when she told him that she loved him.

In contrast, Viall was able to show his softer side during Bachelor in Paradise. However, not everyone seemed to be fully convinced by it.

Chad Johnson, an alumnus of The Bachelorette, described Viall’s behavior during their encounter. According to In Touch Weekly, Chad talked about how “fake” Viall is. He mentioned that he is not really interested in getting a wife but fame.

Another alumnus, Robby Hayes, also made a comment about Viall. He said that he was expecting the next bachelor to be a bit younger. He also remembered the first time he met Viall and he described him as “a little pompous and seemed bitter.”

Johnson also added that Viall certainly knows what to do. Viall had experienced being in two seasons of The Bachelorette and didn’t have luck in getting the girl. However, he got people to like him on the recent Bachelor in Paradise.

According to Johnson, his former contender really knows the things that make him look good on the television. He added that Nick Viall is focusing more on popularity and he is doing it for the wrong reasons.
