Production has officially begun for the hit TV series and the latest location for the shoot is a ruined medieval castle in Scotland, which is known for its connection to Mary Queen of Scots. The queen is known for seeking refuge in the castle back in 1500. Speculations are now making the rounds that Outlander could be using the castle to film some scenes for Ardsmuir Prison.

The report further added that Jamie will end up at Ardsmuir as a prisoner after fighting the battle of Culloden. He will be meeting Lord John Grey played by David Berry, who is the inmates’ governor. There will be a friendship that would blossom between the governor and Jamie.

In the meantime, Den of Geek recently shared that production designer Jon Gary Steele and Ronald D. Moore talked about the details of the third season of Outlander.

“It is as different from the second season as the second was from the first,” Moore shared in an interview. “It involves a sea voyage and going to the Caribbean and it goes to Jamaica. It has war elements.”

The site further added that Moore unveiled that the show would feature 20th-century details and some travel elements.

As for the Outlander Season 3 stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, they are just friends and the stars are not dating despite the fans’ speculations.
