Red Barrels, the game developer of Outlast, surprised and quietly disappointed fans for revealing that they made a difficult decision to push back the release date. The developer has moved the sequel’s release from the original fall 2016 target to an early 2017 anticipated game distribution, reports DesignNTrend.
The studio game developer claimed that they only want to deliver the best outcome the that their team could offer the fans. Hence,the staff needs a little more time in order to get that satisfaction. In short, they want to make sure that their vision for the sequel is not compromised.
Despite its delay, Outlast 2 continues to hype fans as a game-play video surfaced on the net. According to Outlast Wiki, the sequel was created in Unreal Engine 3.
In the demo, players were allowed to run and duck below tangible objects to escape their pursuers. The gameplay demonstrators can also hide in empty barrels or a pools of water.
The movement system was also altered a little to allow gamers to slide while running. For players who want to see in the dark, they can now use the Camcorder’s night vision.
The sequel follows the story of Blake Langerman who works as a cameraman. Blake, together with his wife Lynn, risks his life to unveil a very important scoop.
As investigative journalists, Blake and Lynn go further as they find some clues about the murder of the pregnant woman named Jane Doe. This leads the two journalists into the Arizona desert and somewhere else darker that no one can shed their lights upon.
Outlast 2 will be released on Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 2 and Xbox One.
