To recap, Sam (Jared Padalecki) has been abducted by the British arm of the Men of Letters who are miffed with the way the Winchester Brothers handled last season’s apocalyptic problems. As noted by Comicbook.com, releasing the Darkness also unleashed Lucifer, who snatched the body of Vince Vincente. Rick Springfield as Lucifer can be seen face to face with Crowley (Mark Sheppard) in the trailer.
A clueless Crowley tells Vince “I wanna catch Lucifer.” The Aussie rocker replies “You’re either mad or dim,” to which a chained up Dean (Jensen Ackles) reacts with a you-got-a-point face. The two leaders will battle for supremacy again in Supernatural Season 12 and fans have to wait if they succeed at all, especially with the Winchester matriarch around.
Mary (Samantha Smith) in action is looking quite badass, and there’s definitely something more than meets the eye of this established hunter. She looks like a pro with a gun and she is decisive too, telling Dean, “Now all that matters is getting Sam back.”
The adventures of the Winchester family is definitely something to look forward to in the coming season, but reports of the show’s ending are unfortunately surfacing. The CW network’s longest-running TV series has enjoyed the long journey, but a report from Dark Horizons is saying that both Ackles and Padalecki were quoted to retire by the 300th episode.
“If we don’t make it to 300, I think Ackles and I will both be truly bummed. When we get to 300, I think Ackles and I will think it might be time to say bye. There’s a chance that changes, but we certainly do not take it for granted that we’re going to make it to 300,” Padalecki says according to a quote from EW.
The two hunters are still enjoying a very strong fanbase for having won the votes to be on the cover of the EW magazine, but even the execs of the show are already considering the closure of the storylines. The 300th episode might take place in the middle of Season 14, but executive producer Bob Singer says it could be a 13-episode story for that season, however, because the successful show deserves proper closure.
The finale is still far off, so fans can still enjoy and see how things unfold in Supernatural Season 12.
