MLB Trade Rumors: Diamondbacks throws Patrick Corbin after successive loss against Toronto Blue Jays?

After his Tommy John surgery, Patrick Corbin mightily struggled as per 5.38 ERA and his 4-8 record serve as the basis. This is a clear ground for Arizona D-backs to trade Corbin this week, MLB trade rumors note.

The 27-year-old Arizona D-backs pitcher is reportedly for trade based from his recent huge contribution to the team’s loss against Toronto Blue Jays in June and July matches.

They dramatically lost with 2-5, 5-1, 10-4 results from the past two months this year. Given these losses, the possibility for the young pitcher for trade is unfortunately high.

Concerning his declining pitching capacity, Patrick Corbin explained that he has been doing his best as usual, Arizona Sports reported. However, he wondered why his pitches didn’t work like in the previous seasons.

In the past, he totaled 14-8 record and 3.41 ERA in 2013. He surpassed 200 innings pitched in the previous seasons in 2013 alone. So far, this is the biggest ever recorded in the sport’s history.

Achieving such a huge number resulted to an unexpected wear and tear in Corbin’s arm. Hence, he has to undergo an ulnar collateral ligament surgery in 2014.

Consequently, he missed two seasons (2013 and 2015). Plus, the surgery itself caused his pitching downturns. Clearly hints his struggles in the league.

He also failed to throw a first-pitch strike within the six innings during the Toronto Blue Jays MLB match. Fortunately, Josh Donaldson’s two-run home run added Arizona’s scores.

Standing with only 5.38 ERA in this season, it is considered the worst case in the team compared to his team mates Shelby Miller and Edwin Escobar with 7.14 and 15.95 ERA.

Following the series of injuries earned from the best players of the team, Zack Greinke and Rubby De La Rosa, Shelby Miller and Patrick Corbin are left with big responsibility to keep the team up in the major league level.

The fact that the Diamondbacks failed to achieve an NL West title this season against great teams, they landed fifth. This is the lowest place the team has been due to Corbin’s successive pitching failures, Fansided cited.

Hence, he might be a candidate for MLB trade this week. The question is, will the Diamondbacks pursue this move or retains Corbin in their team?
