Woodley named Nick Diaz or Georges St. Pierre for his next fight
Just coming off from his sensational knockout upset over former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley named Nick Diaz or Georges St. Pierre for his next fight in the Octagon.
In a post-fight press conference following UFC 201, the Chosen One was asked who he wants to fight next, and when the name Stephen Thompson came up, Woodley made it clear that he has other plans.

“I think Nick Diaz comes off of suspension in two days. He’s a money fight,” the UFC welterweight champ said during the interview. “I’ve been here for a while. I want to make the big doe. So if he wants to fight in August with his brother, Nate Diaz, I think me and him can showdown at the event. I’m uninjured. I’m ready to go. Let’s make the money.”

Nate Diaz is scheduled to face featherweight champion Conor McGregor in a highly anticipated welterweight rematch at UFC 202 on August 20. Nick Diaz, on the other hand, will be coming out of his marijuana suspension slapped by the Nevada Athletic Commission in 2015, this weekend. A fight that will feature both Diaz brothers in co-headlining events will surely rake in millions.

His second choice, Georges St. Pierre is retired, but is rumored to be negotiating a return to the Octagon. Should a fight materialize, Woodley wants the fight to be in the UFC first-ever card in New York.
UFC President Dana White, quickly responded to these demands by Woodley in an interview on the FS1 post fight show, complementing the champion’s attitude about asking for a quick turnaround fight.
“I like that he wants to fight again, so we’ll try to figure that out,” the UFC president said.
Although, at this point it may well be best to just wait and see, as many would know in this- business a champ today, can be a chump tomorrow.
