Back in 2014, Stoudemire admitted in an interview that he would consider playing overseas, particularly in Israel, if he’s still in shape for basketball.
“The future is unknown and so if I have an opportunity to [play in Israel] and I’m still in great health, it would be great.” Stoudemire said via New York Post two years ago.

The Hapoel Jerusalem BC is a professional club based in Jerusalem City playing at the Eurocup, Israel Premier League and Israel State Cup. Stoudemire is a co-owner of the Jerusalem-based squad along with Ori Allon, the president of the club, Eyal Chomsky, Shalom Menora, David Kleinhandler and Howard Wietschner, according to the team’s official website.
If Stoudemire joins Hapoel Jerusalem, he’d be playing with other Americans in the team including Curtis Jerrells, Shawn Jones, Jerome Dyson and Tarence Kinsey.
Stoudemire had a colorful NBA career playing from 2002 to 2016. His most memorable years came with the Phoenix Suns, who drafted him as the ninth overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft.
Stoudemire played for Phoenix from 2002 to 2010 before signing a huge deal with the New York Knicks in 2010. He also played for the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat in the latter part of his career.
