NBA Rumors: Former All-Star Carlos Boozer off to China?

Carlos Boozer is reportedly seeking to ink a deal that would send him to China.

The former NBA all-star intends to build a comeback for his career in professional basketball by joining the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association. Once this deal is completed, he will be joining former NBA players Will Bynum, Ike Diogu, and Yi Jianlian who have been playing for the franchise.

A journeyman throughout his career in the NBA, the power forward was inactive during the 2015-16 season. Still, the 34-year-old continued to keep himself physically fit and ready to return. This move to China might be the opportunity that he has been preparing for.

Boozer started his NBA career with the Cleveland Cavaliers back in 2002. After two seasons, he was released and went to the Utah Jazz, In 2010, via a sign-and-trade deal, he was transferred to the Bulls. After four years, he was released by Chicago via the amnesty clause. At that time, the big man was claimed off amnesty waivers by the Lakers.

Throughout his NBA career, Boozer stacked up a total of 861 games. He started in 775 of those. He averaged 16.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per outing. Then again, it is still uncertain if we have seen the last of Boozer in the NBA.

According to ESPN, once the season in China ends, Boozer can still sign with an NBA contender for the remainder of the upcoming season. Then again, that would still be highly dependent on his performance overseas. If he brings his A-game and NBA teams would take notice, there are a lot of young teams that can use a veteran like him.
