Jones did not actually start the last season with the Cavs. He actually signed first with the Brooklyn Nets. But Dahntay was also waived at that time by the Nets after playing in their four pre-season games.

The 35-year-old spent most of the season playing in the NBA developmental league with the Grand Rapids Drive. His play with Grand Rapids is somewhat noticeable after he averaged 15.7 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game and 0.8 steals per game.
Moreover, his play in D-League was noticed by the Cavaliers as he was signed on April 13 of the year. This is good before the last game of the team against the Detroit Pistons. He immediately made his debut against Detroit as he finished with 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks for his new team.
However, the guard out of Duke is actually known as a hard-nosed defensive player. Because of his pesky defense, he was accused of playing dirty. This happened when he contested Kobe Bryant’s shot in the Atlanta Hawks game against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2013.
He recently got involved in a one-game suspension after punching Bismack Biyombo in the groin during the game 4 of the East finals.

He ended his tenure for the Cavs as a champion. Jones averaged 1.1 points per game, 1.1 rebounds per game, 0.3 assists per game, 0.3 steals per game and 0.3 blocks per game in the playoffs.
